Introduction

The Central Sanskrit University (CSU) has announced a new entrance exam called the NEET-PA. This exam is designed to create a combined academic path for students who want to earn a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree.

中央梵文大學(CSU)已宣布一项名为 NEET-PA 的新入学考试。此考试旨在为希望获得阿育吠陀医学与外科学士(BAMS)学位的学生创建一条综合学术路径。

Main Body

This initiative is a collaboration between the Central Sanskrit University and the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM). To support this, the Ayurveda Gurukul Affiliation Portal was launched to standardize how Gurukuls are managed across the country. Consequently, the new program lasts 7.5 years, which includes two years of Pre-Ayurveda Gurukulam education, four and a half years of BAMS studies, and a final one-year internship.

The exam will be an offline, multiple-choice test with 120 questions to be completed in 150 minutes. It will be available in Sanskrit, Hindi, and English, focusing on the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), including history, grammar, and philosophy. Registration starts in the third week of July 2026, and the test is expected to take place in late August or early September 2026.

The 'Logical Glue' Shift

At the A2 level, you likely connect ideas using simple words like and, but, or because. To reach B2, you need to use Advanced Transition Markers to show a professional relationship between ideas.

Look at how this text moves from a simple fact to a result:

*"...the Ayurveda Gurukul Affiliation Portal was launched... Consequently, the new program lasts 7.5 years..."

The B2 Upgrade: 'Consequently' Instead of saying "So, the program is 7.5 years," the author uses Consequently. This word signals a direct cause-and-effect relationship. It tells the reader: "Because X happened, Y is the necessary result."

Leveling Up Your Logic

Here are three other "Glue Words" from the text that move you away from A2 patterns:

  1. Furthermore \rightarrow (Better than 'Also')

    • A2: Also, you must be 15 to 25 years old.
    • B2: Furthermore, applicants must be between 15 and 25 years old.
    • Why? It adds a new, important piece of information to a list of requirements.
  2. Whereas \rightarrow (Better than 'But')

    • A2: General students need 50%, but SC/ST students need 40%.
    • B2: General candidates need at least 50 percent marks, whereas SC, ST... candidates need 40 percent.
    • Why? It creates a sophisticated contrast between two different groups.
  3. Designed to \rightarrow (Better than 'Made for')

    • A2: This exam is made for students who want a degree.
    • B2: This exam is designed to create a combined academic path...
    • Why? It describes a specific purpose or intention, which is a hallmark of academic English.

Quick Tip for the Bridge: Next time you write a sentence with 'and' or 'but', ask yourself: Is this a result (Consequently)? Is this a contrast (Whereas)? Or am I adding a strong point (Furthermore)?
