Gurdaspur had the highest number of cases, whereas Moga had the highest death rate.

A ten-year-old boy died after a reported two-hour delay in getting an ambulance from a community health center. The boy's family asserted that the medical staff gave too little anti-snake venom (ASV) and that they had to use a private car to reach a larger hospital in Lucknow because the state transport failed. Consequently, the Chief Medical Officer of Barabanki has started an official investigation to find the cause of this failure, although he emphasized that there are enough ASV supplies in the district's health centers.
