The United States government has proposed the installation of permanent fences and improved security measures around the White House complex and Lafayette Square.

The new security plan was created by the Secret Service, the White House, and the Department of the Interior. Because of these risks, the proposal also includes a 90,000-square-foot ballroom with sniper positions, a drone facility, and a secure bunker.

The Commission of Fine Arts is now reviewing the plans, with some work starting in September and other parts continuing until 2027.
