🚀 The Logic of 'Cause and Effect'
To move from A2 to B2, you must stop using only 'and' or 'so'. B2 speakers use Connectors of Consequence. Look at how the story moves from a crime to a police arrest:
"...the victim shared the story on social media... Consequently, a formal complaint was filed."
What is 'Consequently'? It is a professional way to say "As a result." It signals to the listener that the second event happened because of the first one.
The B2 Upgrade Path:
- A2: He did something bad, so he was fired.
- B2: He behaved inappropriately; consequently, the company terminated his employment.
🧩 The 'Passive' Shift
Notice this phrase: "a case was registered".
In A2, we usually say who did the action: "The police registered a case." But in B2 English (especially in news and business), we use the Passive Voice. We do this when the action is more important than the person doing it.
Try this mental switch:
- Instead of: "Flipkart fired the employee" "The employee was fired by Flipkart."
⚠️ Precision Vocabulary
Stop using "bad" or "wrong." Use specific B2 verbs:
- Misconduct: Not just 'bad behavior,' but behavior that breaks a professional rule.
- Trespassing: Not just 'going inside,' but entering a place where you are not allowed.
- Emphasized: Not just 'said,' but said something with strong importance.
