A flight instructor from Ravenair used a Piper Tomahawk aircraft to write a personal message in the sky over north-west England.

The incident happened on a Saturday, starting with a departure from Liverpool at around 11:25 BST. According to data from Flightradar24, the plane flew over the Wirral, Cheshire, and north Wales, eventually focusing its activity over the Dee estuary. The pilot, a flying instructor in his twenties, performed a series of precise turns for twenty minutes to spell out the phrase 'I'm bored.' This activity took place at an altitude of about 335 meters and a speed slightly below 100 knots.

Regarding the reason for the flight, operations manager Wayne Barrett emphasized that it was a necessary test following maintenance work. Specifically, the flight was required to check that a replaced cylinder was working correctly. Although the specific flight path was not authorized, the technical goal of the test was achieved. Furthermore, Barrett noted the irony that while the pilot claimed to be bored, the maneuvers actually required a high level of concentration. Consequently, the company has decided not to take disciplinary action, as they value the pilot's technical skill despite his failure to follow standard protocols.
