A Ryanair flight leaving Thessaloniki, Greece, suffered a window failure that led to a passenger being partially pulled out of the aircraft.

The incident took place on July 10 during a flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen, Germany. While the Boeing 737-800 was climbing to about 20,000 feet, a cabin window broke. According to local media and airport sources, this was caused by a piece of the engine breaking off and hitting the glass. Consequently, the cabin lost pressure quickly, which forced the oxygen masks to drop and sounded like an explosion to the passengers.

He survived because he was wearing his seat belt and other passengers, including his wife, held onto him for five minutes. After the plane landed, medical exams in Thessaloniki confirmed that the man had suffered friction burns.
