Emergency services have responded to two separate vegetation fires located in Mission Valley, San Diego, and Saratoga Springs, Utah.

In San Diego, a fire known as the Friars Fire started on Friars Road. At first, firefighters reported a small area of light grass burning slowly. However, later reports from WatchDuty indicated that the fire was spreading at a moderate pace through medium-sized plants, affecting about one acre. Consequently, authorities raised the alarm level, closed Friars Road to traffic, and requested five more fire engines. Although aerial support from CAL FIRE was requested at first, it was later cancelled. Weather conditions at the scene included a temperature of 66.5ºF and southwesterly wind gusts of 17.5 mph.

At the same time, another vegetation fire called the Saratoga Fire occurred in Saratoga Springs, Utah. This fire covered approximately two acres and was described as spreading rapidly. The Unified Fire Authority and Saratoga Springs Fire Rescue managed the situation, focusing on protecting nearby buildings. Furthermore, the Eagle Mountain local government advised residents to stay away from the area to help emergency teams work. Despite the speed of the fire, officials emphasized that no buildings were in danger and no evacuations were necessary at the time.
