紐約、蒙哥馬利縣及達克縣的警局目前正在調查三起不同的摩托車事故。
Main Body
The most serious accident happened on the New York State Thruway between the Henrietta and LeRoy exits. In this crash, an SUV towing a boat collided with two motorcycles, which caused two riders to become trapped under the boat. After the Henrietta Fire District and New York State Police arrived to help, four people were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with moderate to serious injuries. Furthermore, the fire department emphasized that the help provided by bystanders at the scene was very useful.
At the same time, two other accidents were reported in Ohio. The first took place around 1:30 a.m. near the University of Dayton campus, while the second occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on Friday in Darke County. Although there is detailed information about the New York crash, the exact causes and the condition of the victims in the Ohio accidents are still unknown while the police continue their investigation.

Vocabulary Learning
⚡ Moving Beyond "And" & "But"
An A2 student usually connects ideas with simple words. To reach B2, you must use Complex Connectors to show the relationship between two events. This text provides the perfect map for this transition.
🛠 The 'Addition' Upgrade
Instead of saying "Also, the fire department said...", the text uses:
"Furthermore, the fire department emphasized..."
Why this is B2: "Furthermore" is a formal signpost. It tells the reader that the next piece of information is not just extra, but adds a new layer of importance to the argument.
🛠 The 'Contrast' Shift
At A2, you likely use "But" at the start of sentences. Look at how the text handles opposite information:
"Although there is detailed information about the New York crash, the exact causes... are still unknown."
The B2 Logic: "Although" creates a complex sentence. It allows you to acknowledge one fact (we have info on NY) while immediately pivoting to the main point (we have no info on Ohio). It makes your writing feel fluid rather than choppy.
🛠 The 'Simultaneous' Trigger
To describe two things happening at once, avoid repeating "At the same time" too often. The text uses:
"...while the police continue their investigation."
Pro Tip: Use "while" to create a background setting. It allows you to describe an ongoing action (investigating) that happens at the same time as a state of being (unknown causes).
