Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, has claimed that large amounts of donated money are missing from the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

The controversy began when Mr. Yadav posted on the social media platform X, where he alleged that crores of rupees in donations had disappeared. He emphasized that the lack of an immediate explanation from the temple trust and the central government suggests a suspicious lack of transparency. Furthermore, he argued that these financial irregularities are a major concern for the global Hindu community; consequently, he called for the court to take independent action to protect the faith of the devotees.

In response to these claims, Mahant Dinendra Das, representing the temple trust, defended the institution. He asserted that the trustees would not engage in such dishonest behavior, although he stated that they are willing to follow government orders or participate in formal investigations. Additionally, the trust's representative indicated that anyone found guilty of wrongdoing would face appropriate punishment, suggesting that the matter would be resolved through official administrative processes.
