The Real Madrid presidential election has ended, and it is expected that the current president, Florentino Perez, will keep his position despite a challenge from Enrique Riquelme.

This election was the first time since 2006 that multiple candidates competed for the presidency. According to exit polls, Perez maintained a strong lead with between 61% and 65.84% of the votes, whereas Riquelme received approximately 34.16% to 39%. By 17:00, 23,593 votes had been cast, which represents a turnout of 31.37%. Although Perez won by a wide margin, some analysts emphasize that Riquelme's significant support shows that some members want more transparency and a change in how the club is managed.

He suggested spending €150 million to sign a Champions League player, reportedly Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. This move was intended to improve the team's performance after a period with few trophies, as the club only won the 2024 UEFA Super Cup. Consequently, if this transfer happens, the club will need to reorganize its attacking line, which already includes stars like Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Kylian Mbappe.
