Court Reviews CBSE Evaluation and Administrative Procedures

Introduction

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is currently facing legal challenges in the Supreme Court and the Delhi High Court. These cases involve the release of results for students abroad and the reliability of the board's digital marking systems.

Main Body

The Supreme Court of India has contacted the CBSE after a petition from Pransu Jigarkumar Patel, a student in Saudi Arabia. The student claims that the Board did not release his Class XII improvement results, even though a special plan was created for West Asian countries where exams were cancelled due to regional conflict. While the CBSE argued that they were overwhelmed by work and lacked specific assessments for private candidates, the court emphasized that this is an urgent matter because it could negatively affect the student's university admissions.

At the same time, the Delhi High Court is reviewing a case filed by the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) regarding the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. The NSUI claims there were serious technical problems, such as blurry scans and mismatched answer sheets, which may have made the Class XII results inaccurate. Consequently, the union is asking for manual checks of the papers and an independent investigation into how the OSM system was purchased. The CBSE has rejected these claims, asserting that the petition is politically motivated.

In response, the CBSE stated that its results portal worked correctly from June 2 to June 7, 2026, with support from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The Board reported that over 1.6 lakh candidates requested reviews for about 3.8 lakh answer books. They explained that some users saw a 'Roll Number Not Found' error because they missed the first application step, not because of a system failure. However, the Union education ministry has started an investigation into the purchase of the OSM system, and the CBSE's top leaders have been replaced.

Conclusion

The CBSE continues to face strict oversight from the courts and the government as it tries to balance its digital marking methods with the need for fairness and transparency.

⚡ The 'Precision' Pivot: Moving from Basic to Sophisticated

At the A2 level, you describe things simply: "The court is looking at the problem." But to reach B2, you need Precise Verbs. The article uses specific words that tell us exactly how something is happening.

🔍 The Power Shift

Look at these three transitions. Instead of using a generic word like "say" or "do," the text uses "Professional Verbs":

  1. "Facing legal challenges" \rightarrow (Instead of: having problems with the law)
  2. "Asserting that..." \rightarrow (Instead of: saying strongly that...)
  3. "Emphasized that..." \rightarrow (Instead of: said that this is important)

🛠️ Bridge Logic: How to Use This

B2 students don't just communicate; they communicate with intent.

A2 Style (Basic)B2 Style (Precise)Why it's better
The board said no.The board rejected the claims. It shows a formal decision.
They are checking the system. They are reviewing the system. It implies a detailed, official study.
It's a bad thing for the student. It could negatively affect the student. It describes the specific impact.

💡 Pro-Tip for Your Growth

Next time you want to use the word "Say", stop. Ask yourself:

  • Am I arguing? \rightarrow Use Assert.
  • Am I explaining a detail? \rightarrow Use Emphasize.
  • Am I disagreeing? \rightarrow Use Reject.

This shift in vocabulary is the fastest way to move from 'surviving' in English to 'commanding' the language.
