A scientific study about the health effects of alcohol, originally ordered by the Biden administration, has been published independently. This happened after the Trump administration decided to leave its specific findings out of the national dietary guidelines.

However, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) maintained that the guidelines were based on all available scientific evidence rather than just one study.

They noted that there is no scientific evidence to prove that social benefits outweigh the physical harm to the body.
