A web developer in Gurugram has lost his job after making controversial remarks during a public comedy show.

The incident happened during a performance by comedian Pranit More. A 23-year-old man, Himanshu Jangra, claimed that spending ₹370 on a meal for a woman meant he deserved something in return. Furthermore, Jangra described a time when he pressured a woman to go to a quiet park with him despite her reluctance. After these comments were shared on social media, many people criticized him for promoting sexist attitudes and ignoring female consent.

In response to the public anger, Vivek Vishwakarma, the founder of Starvik Design, announced that Jangra had been fired. Although an internal review showed that Jangra had been a hardworking employee with no previous complaints, Vishwakarma emphasized that the controversy had negatively affected the workplace. The company stated that the remarks were offensive and went against their corporate values; consequently, they decided to end his employment to protect their staff and clients.

At the same time, the comedian Pranit More faced criticism. Some critics argued that because More laughed and posted the video, he was supporting these views. However, More later issued a formal apology, admitting that he made a mistake by not challenging the comments. Jangra has also deleted his social media accounts and apologized for his behavior.
