Main Body
Regarding professional recruitment, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has not yet released the results for the Civil Services preliminary exam held on May 24, 2026. This exam serves as a screening process for 933 vacancies; however, the marks from these two objective papers are not included in the final ranking. Similarly, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has delayed the results for the Multi-Tasking Staff and Havaldar exam. After the computer-based tests in February and the closing of the answer key objection window on March 6, the commission is now processing results for 7,948 positions.
In the area of secondary education, the Madhya Pradesh Board (MPBSE) has published the Class 12 second examination results, which took place in May 2026 to help students improve their grades. This follows the main exams where 76.01% of 6.13 lakh candidates passed. In contrast, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not yet released the Class 10 second board results from May 2026. This second exam system was introduced based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to allow students to improve their scores in up to three subjects.
Furthermore, the Maharashtra State CET Cell has announced the results for professional entrance tests held in April, noting that five candidates achieved a perfect score. At the same time, the higher education department has started a Common Entrance Test (CET) for a subsidized UPSC coaching program. The State Institute for Administrative Careers (SIAC) will manage this process, with the offline exam scheduled for August 2 after registration closes on June 30.
Conclusion
In summary, while the MPBSE and Maharashtra CET Cell have finished releasing their results, the UPSC, SSC, and CBSE are still processing their 2026 examination outcomes.
Vocabulary Learning
⚡ The 'B2 Shift': Moving from Simple Lists to Logical Contrast
At the A2 level, students usually describe things in a straight line: "The MPBSE released results. The CBSE did not release results." To reach B2, you must stop writing lists and start building logical bridges using connectors that signal a change in direction.
🧩 The Contrast Engine
Look at how the text connects opposing facts. Instead of using only "but," it uses sophisticated 'contrast markers' to manage complex information:
- "However" Used to pivot. (e.g., The exam is a screening process; however, the marks don't count for the final rank.)
- "Similarly" Used to group two different things that are behaving the same way. (e.g., UPSC is delayed. Similarly, the SSC is delayed.)
- "In contrast" Used to highlight a sharp difference between two entities. (e.g., MPBSE published results. In contrast, CBSE has not.)
🛠️ Practical Application: The Upgrade Path
| A2 Style (Basic) | B2 Style (Fluid) |
|---|---|
| I studied hard. I failed the test. | I studied hard; however, I failed the test. |
| My brother likes art. I like science. | My brother likes art. In contrast, I prefer science. |
| The rain stopped. The wind stayed strong. | The rain stopped; similarly, the clouds remained. |
💡 Pro Tip for Fluency
Notice that "Furthermore" is used in the text to add a new, related topic. When you move from talking about schools to talking about entrance tests, don't just start a new paragraph—use a "bridge word" like Furthermore or Moreover to tell the reader: "I am adding more professional information now."
