Police in Pune have started legal action against three people after a long-term employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) committed suicide.

The legal process began on June 9 after a complaint was filed by the 19-year-old son of the victim, who was 48 and had worked at TCS for over ten years. The Bhosari police have charged three suspects: two TCS employees, Archana and Shashwati (one of whom was the victim's manager), and a family friend, Vinod Palicha. They are accused of encouraging suicide and committing criminal acts together under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

A suicide note suggests that the victim suffered from workplace harassment. He claimed that the two TCS employees humiliated him in public, took away important projects, and refused to give him leave while his wife was receiving cancer treatment. Furthermore, he stated that he was pressured to resign through threats of bad performance reviews. At the same time, Mr. Palicha, who does not work for TCS, allegedly increased the victim's stress by blaming him for a divorce and filing police reports for theft and cheating.

自殺遺書顯示死者在職場遭受欺凌。他聲稱那兩名 TCS 員工在公開場合羞辱他，奪走重要項目，且在其妻子接受癌症治療期間拒絕給予他請假。此外，他表示有人透過威脅給予糟糕的績效評核來逼其辭職。同時，並非 TCS 員工的 Palicha 先生涉嫌透過將離婚責任歸咎於死者，並舉報其偷竊與欺詐，進而增加死者的壓力。

This event happens while the company is already facing other problems. About two months ago, a TCS-linked office in Nashik was involved in nine police reports regarding sexual harassment and religious pressure. This led to eight employees being charged and sent to jail. Although the Pune investigation is still continuing, no one has been arrested yet.

The Pune police are still reviewing the evidence and witness statements, while TCS says it is cooperating with the investigation and checking the facts.
