The building was illegal because it exceeded the height limit and lacked essential safety features, such as emergency exits and proper ventilation. Consequently, three people died and two others are in critical condition. Police are investigating the case for negligence; furthermore, they are checking CCTV footage of a masked woman who entered the building before the fire started to see if it was a deliberate act.

All these buildings had ignored official building codes. Similarly, other incidents were reported in different areas: an elderly couple was rescued from a fire in Sector 50, and a chemical shop fire in Greater Noida was controlled without any injuries, despite the presence of dangerous chemicals.
