India Confirms Success of Multi-Layered Missile Defence and Naval Systems
印度確認多層飛彈防禦與海軍系統測試成功
Introduction
The Indian Ministry of Defence has announced that it successfully completed several flight tests. These tests proved the effectiveness of a multi-layered Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) system and a medium-range naval missile.
印度國防部宣布,已成功完成數次飛行測試。這些測試證明了多層彈道飛彈防禦(BMD)系統與中程海軍飛彈的有效性。
Main Body
The tests took place on June 10 and 11 and included three separate flights to check if the system could stop long-range ballistic missiles. These trials focused on the system's ability to hit targets both inside the atmosphere (below 100 km) and in space. The Ministry of Defence emphasized that these results place India in a small group of countries with the technology to stop Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs), which can travel over 5,000 km. Furthermore, the system can also destroy enemy aircraft, such as warning and control planes.
測試於 6 月 10 日和 11 日進行,包括三次獨立飛行,以檢查該系統是否能攔截遠程彈道飛彈。這些試驗重點在於該系統擊中大氣層內(100 公里以下)以及太空目標的能力。國防部強調,這些結果使印度進入了少數擁有攔截洲際飛彈(ICBMs,航程超過 5,000 公里)技術的國家之列。此外,該系統還能摧毀敵機,例如預警機和控制機。
This success is the result of twenty years of hard work. The process began between 2006 and 2007 with the Prithvi Air Defence (PAD) for high altitudes, followed by the Advanced Air Defence (AAD) for lower altitudes. After more tests in 2017 and 2018, India tested its first sea-based interceptor in April 2023. At the same time, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) tested the Naval Anti-Ship Missile-Medium Range (NASM-MR) for the first time. This new missile improves India's ability to protect its seas. These trials were led by the Chairman of the DRDO and praised by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Conclusion
India has now proven that its multi-layered defence system works and can successfully stop both long-range missiles and medium-range naval targets.
印度現在已經證明其多層防禦系統有效,並能成功攔截遠程飛彈與中程海軍目標。

🚀 The "Power-Up": Moving from Simple to Complex Descriptions
At the A2 level, you describe things using basic words. To reach B2, you need to use Compound Adjectives—words joined by a hyphen to create a single, precise description. This allows you to say more with fewer words.
Look at these examples from the text:
- Multi-layered (Multi + layered)
- Medium-range (Medium + range)
- Sea-based (Sea + based)
- Long-range (Long + range)
Why this is a B2 move: Instead of saying "A system that has many layers" (A2/B1), you say "A multi-layered system" (B2). It sounds more professional and fluent.
🛠️ How to build your own
Formula: [Adjective/Noun] + [Past Participle/Noun] = New Description
| A2 Style (Wordy) | B2 Style (Precise) |
|---|---|
| A phone that is made in China | A Chinese-made phone |
| A project that lasts for two weeks | A two-week project |
| A person who works hard | A hard-working person |
| A car that uses electricity | An electric-powered car |
💡 Pro Tip: The "S" Trap
When you turn a measurement into a compound adjective, remove the 's'.
- ❌ A five-kilometers journey.
- ✅ A five-kilometer journey.
(Notice how the article says "5,000 km" as a measurement, but uses "long-range" as a description. Use the hyphen when the word comes right before the thing it describes!)
