A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was injured on June 15, 2026, during a confrontation with a suspect in Stafford Township.

The incident began around 9:30 a.m. on Route 72 in the Manahawkin area. While the agent was trying to arrest a suspect, the individual used a vehicle to escape the scene, which resulted in a collision with the agent. In response, the agent fired a weapon, and reports state that the suspect's vehicle was hit. Despite this, the suspect managed to leave the area and was still missing as of that afternoon.

Although the agent was seen being taken away on a stretcher, the exact medical condition of the agent and the suspect remains unknown. Federal authorities have not yet responded to questions about the event.
