The Pune District and Sessions Court has entered the final phase of the trial regarding the sexual assault and murder of a three-and-a-half-year-old girl in Narsapur.

The legal process for this case has moved very quickly, as the official chargesheet was filed only sixteen days after the crime was reported. To build their case, the prosecution called 55 witnesses, including the lead investigating officer, a cyber expert, and a forensic specialist. Furthermore, they submitted more than 355 documents and provided electronic evidence, such as CCTV footage and digital video recordings.

Additionally, the court reviewed medical reports and post-mortem analyses to confirm the cause of death and the details of the assault. These findings were supported by testimonies from the victim's family and three young witnesses who claimed to have seen the accused with the girl before the crime. Consequently, the court is now recording the defendant's statement and reviewing probation reports about his behavior in prison and his family background.
