Introduction

A serious outbreak of the Bundibugyo variant of the Ebola virus is currently affecting the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda, causing more than 200 deaths.

Meanwhile, the WHO has issued clinical guidelines emphasizing early supportive care, such as fluid replacement, because there are currently no approved vaccines for the Bundibugyo strain.
