Authorities in South Carolina have confirmed that a woman found dead in a wooded area has been identified as 39-year-old fitness trainer Elena Katherine Moore.

Elena Katherine Moore was reported missing on June 11, 2026. She was last seen at a Planet Fitness gym and later appeared on security cameras at a Publix parking lot. On June 21, the Lexington County Coroner's Office confirmed the identity of the body, noting that the woman was wearing the same green outfit seen in the earlier surveillance footage.

However, these claims are contrasted by reports that Moore had previously stayed in a mental health facility and had been acting strangely in the weeks before she vanished, including stopping all social media activity.
