Why this is B2: Instead of saying "Oklahoma is #1, but they lost a player," the author uses Although. This tells the reader that the second part of the sentence is surprising.
Try this logic:

- B2: Although I studied hard, I failed the test.
2. Adding Weight: As well as / And also
Notice how the author lists players:

In B2 English, we don't just list things with "and." We use phrases that show the status of the action. Here, the author balances a finished action (secured) with a current desire (is interested in).

The Trick: In A2, you use Because + [Subject + Verb]. (Because they have good players). In B2, you use Because of + [Noun]. (Because of the players).
