Comcast NBCUniversal and the United Kingdom government have announced the development of the Universal United Kingdom Resort in Bedfordshire, supported by a combined investment of £7.3 billion.

The administration anticipates the creation of 20,000 construction-phase roles and 8,000 operational positions upon the 2031 opening, with an estimated 80% of the permanent workforce sourced from the surrounding region. The facility is designed to include a year-round theme park and a non-ticketed retail and entertainment district.
