The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has not yet released the final report concerning the crash of Air India flight AI-171, citing pending technical analyses from the original equipment manufacturer.

A preliminary report issued on July 12 of the preceding year indicated that both fuel control switches transitioned from 'run' to 'cutoff,' thereby depriving the engines of fuel; however, the causal mechanism for this transition remains undetermined.

Consequently, the final report cannot be promulgated until GE Aerospace concludes its assessment. Both Boeing and GE Aerospace have deferred all inquiries to the AAIB, citing Annex 13 of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) protocols.

While the AAIB maintains that the probe is ongoing, aviation specialists suggest that the absence of periodic updates may facilitate the proliferation of speculative narratives and diminish public confidence in the investigative process.
