An 18-year-old domestic worker in Lahore has died following complications from an illegal abortion procedure after allegations of prolonged sexual abuse.

The decedent, identified as Ayesha, was employed by a high-net-worth family in Lahore. Court records indicate that for a period of one year, the individual was subjected to repeated sexual assaults perpetrated by the employer's son and the family driver. Upon the discovery of a pregnancy in November of the preceding year, the employers allegedly mandated the administration of abortifacients. Despite the decedent's subsequent deterioration in health and a temporary return to her residence in Faisalabad, where medical practitioners confirmed the continuation of the pregnancy, the employers insisted upon her return to Lahore for a surgical intervention. During this procedure, it was determined that the fetus had expired; however, the decedent failed to recover from the resulting medical complications, leading to her death on May 26.
