Rex Heuermann, a New York-based architect, has been sentenced to life imprisonment following his admission of guilt in the deaths of multiple women on Long Island.

The identification of Heuermann was predicated on the synthesis of historical witness testimony regarding a first-generation Chevrolet Avalanche and the analysis of cellular data. Investigators established that 'burner' phones used to contact victims were frequently localized within a specific geographic radius in Massapequa Park, coinciding with Heuermann's residence and professional office in Manhattan. Forensic evidence, including DNA recovered from discarded refuse, provided the necessary biological link to the victims.

Concurrently, a separate arrest in late 2025 linked another individual to the deaths of Tanya Jackson and her daughter, Tatiana Dykes. These developments have left only one set of remains—an Asian male—unidentified.
