The Shift: Instead of saying "So," B2 speakers use Consequently. It signals a professional cause-and-effect relationship.
- A2: The rain started, so we went home.
- B2: The rain started; consequently, we returned home.
2. The 'Adding' Bridge: Furthermore

The Shift: Instead of saying "And" or "Also" at the start of a sentence, use Furthermore. This tells the reader: "I have already given you one piece of information, and now I am adding a second, more important point."
3. The 'Contrast' Bridge: While

The Shift: This is a high-level move. While allows you to put two opposite ideas in one single sentence. This is the hallmark of B2 fluency—balancing a contrast without starting a new sentence with "But."
